DEAR COLLEAGUES, ARTISTS, CURATORS AND FRIENDS OF THE GALLERY,
This year’s call for project proposals for the period March 2027 – March 2028 has once again brought exceptionally strong ideas, bold concepts and in-depth research to Kazanlak. We thank all the artists and teams who applied, for trusting that the spaces of Art Gallery – Kazanlak are the right stage for their projects.
Following review and adjudication of the submitted applications, the exhibition programme for the coming annual cycle has been approved:

Retrospective exhibition of the artist Ivan Radev (1932–2014)
130 years since the birth of Ivan Milev (1897–1927)
130 years since the birth of Ivan Penkov (1897–1957)
120 years since the birth of Nenko Balkanski (1907–1977)
By 1 October, the gallery’s team will be in touch with the approved artists and curatorial teams to confirm specific dates, technical details and coordination of delivery.
Alongside these exhibition highlights, over the coming creative period the gallery’s team has also prepared numerous accompanying events – exciting encounters with art and genuine cultural adventures for our audience.
Behind the responsible selection of highlights for the new programme season lies the thorough work of our Art Advisory Board. We extend our sincere thanks for the time, critical judgement and expertise of Prof. Milena Georgieva (art historian, Institute of Art Studies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), Prof. Dr Mariela Gemisheva (lecturer at the National Academy of Art, artist and designer), Dr Katya Tineva (art historian), Dr Anton Staykov (artist and art historian), and Rosen Donchev (chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Artists – Kazanlak).
